When Lily & Sam’s wedding day arrived, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for a summer celebration. Hosted at a beautiful private residence in Surrey, the day had a wonderfully personal feel, with the surrounding countryside providing a relaxed backdrop for friends and family to come together. The sun was shining from start to finish and it really was one of those wedding days that felt like summer had been ordered especially for the occasion.

As the afternoon moved into evening, guests gathered inside the large marquee, ready to celebrate properly. With plenty of space for everyone to eat, drink and dance, the marquee became the heart of the evening — and eventually, the place where a very good number of sensible shoes were abandoned!

A Night Of Live Music You’ll Never Forget

Lily & Sam chose our 7-piece wedding band to soundtrack their evening, bringing together male and female vocals, saxophone, keys, guitar, bass and drums. Their setlist included favourites such as Gotta Get Through This, Murder On The Dancefloor, I’m Coming Out and Forget You, creating the perfect mix of nostalgia, energy and dance floor appeal. Earlier in the evening, we also performed a live rendition of their first dance song; This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole. With everyone gathered around them, it was a wonderfully personal moment before the party really got underway.

Wireless Musicians & Interactive Element

With such beautiful weather, it seemed a shame to keep everyone inside — and thankfully, our wireless systems meant the music didn’t have to stay in one place either. Our singers and musicians could leave the stage, join guests on the dance floor and even head out into the field while the sun was still shining.

It creates a completely different kind of live music experience. Rather than watching a band from a distance, guests become part of the performance, with the musicians moving amongst them and responding to the energy of the room. For Lily & Sam, it helped create an atmosphere that felt spontaneous, sociable and wonderfully relaxed.

Surrey Wedding Entertainment

The combination of a private countryside setting, glorious summer weather and a live wedding band brought something particularly special to the evening. There was no feeling that the party was being confined to one room or environment, instead the music became part of the wider celebration, moving effortlessly between the marquee, dance floor and gorgeous outdoor space.

It really was a stunning Surrey wedding and a brilliant example of how live music can complement the atmosphere of the day while still giving guests those big, memorable party moments.

A Summer Wedding Packed With Energy

As the evening unfolded, the combination of incredible weather, a beautiful private setting and a brilliant group of guests created exactly the kind of atmosphere you hope for at a wedding.

The dance floor quickly became the centre of attention, with Lily & Sam and their guests throwing themselves into the music. From the opening songs through to the bigger sing-along moments, there was a real sense that nobody was particularly interested in standing on the sidelines.

For us, Lily & Sam’s wedding was a lovely reminder of why we love an outdoor summer wedding. The best celebrations aren’t necessarily about creating a perfectly choreographed evening, but more about responding to the people, the setting and the moment.

Thanks to Lily & Sam for being such an incredible couple, and to their guests for being so much fun to party with! We can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than with live music spilling out from the marquee into the sunshine and a dance floor full of happy people. It was a truly unforgettable wedding celebration.

Absolutely Incredible!

Anthem Function Band were absolutely incredible! They brought so much energy to our wedding and kept the dance floor full all night. The music was fantastic, the band were professional and easy to work with, and so many of our guests commented on how amazing they were. They played our first dance song which was AMAZING!!!
