There’s something undeniably special about a late September wedding when the sun decides to linger just a little longer. Georgina & Joshua were blessed with glorious weather for their celebration at the Royal Automobile Club’s Woodcote Park — a venue renowned for its sweeping Surrey parkland, manicured lawns and elegant country house charm.
From the moment guests arrived, in their tuxedos and floor-length gowns, drinks in hand and canapés circulating across the terrace, the tone was set. With the rolling greenery as a backdrop and the stately clubhouse standing proudly behind them, this was the perfect setting for a wedding filled with personality and exceptional live music.
Interactive Live Band Energy
For Georgina & Joshua’s wedding reception entertainment, we provided our 7-piece band complete with saxophone as well as both male and female vocalists — a line-up designed for big sound and dynamic performance.
But what truly elevated the night was the interaction. Our male vocalist, Bobby, thrives on connection and he didn’t stay on stage for long. With wireless mic in hand, he wandered through the crowd, encouraging singalongs and turning guests into part of the show. At one point, ties were removed, knotted together and transformed into a spontaneous limbo line in the centre of the dance floor — a challenge the band couldn’t resist joining in with themselves.

Acoustic Wedding Music On The Lawn
Earlier in the day, as guests gathered outside for the drinks reception, we provided a duo set featuring acoustic guitar and vocals. One of the standout moments came when we performed Half The World Away by Oasis — a special request from Joshua. As soon as the opening chords rang out, his groomsmen rushed forward, grabbed him and formed an impromptu choir right in front of us. Arms slung over shoulders, black-tie formality momentarily forgotten and pints abandoned, they sang every word at the top of their voices. It was spontaneous, heartfelt and exactly the kind of authentic moment that makes live wedding entertainment so powerful.
Meanwhile, guests enjoyed bar service from Flight Case Bars, who were serving from a brilliant Guinness bar that quickly became a focal point of the terrace.

From First Dance to Dance Floor Anthems
Georgina & Joshua chose Everlasting Love by Love Affair as their first dance, and requested that we perform it for them live. The bride and groom took to the dance floor, surrounded by family and friends, and and danced their way into married life.
We opened the first live set with Dancing Queen by ABBA — a bold way to guarantee a packed dance floor from the outset!
Set two began with a special request for Joshua’s mum: Can’t Get By Without You by The Real Thing. The dedication brought a wave of cheers — and a very proud mother-of-the-groom straight onto the dance floor.
A Wedding Celebration Beautifully Captured
From sun-drenched acoustic melodies on the lawn to a packed dance floor beneath the clubhouse lights, Georgina & Joshua’s wedding at the Royal Automobile Club was a perfect reflection of them: stylish, relaxed and filled with love.
For us at Anthem Function Band, it was an honour to provide the live wedding music that soundtracked such a beautiful celebration — and to witness, once again, just how powerful live music can be in bringing people together.
